Over $380,000 was awarded to schools and nonprofits in the greater Greenville area through the 2024 Education Grant Cycle. A collaborative effort, the Education Foundation of Greenville (EFG) and the Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF) coordinate grant cycles to award funding to Greenville Public Schools and local nonprofits educational programs.  

Grants funded by EFG include:

  • $1,757 to the Greenville High School MICI Life Skills Cooking program
  • $2,384 to the Walnut Hills Transitional Kindergarten for dramatic play materials
  • $500 to the Greenville High School Social Studies Department US History Local Museum Field Trips
  • $2,610 to Greenville Public Schools Orchestra for new string orchestra method books
  • $2,730 to Greenville High School for Digital Drawing Tablets

Additionally, EFG and GACF co-funded the following grants:

  • $12,900 to Greenville Public Schools for Decodable Take Home Books
  • $3,994 to Greenville Middle School for Strength and Conditioning equipment

Grants funded by GACF include:

  • $8,574 to the Belding Area Schools Broadcasting Program
  • $32,724 to Greenville Public Schools for Group Literacy Materials
  • $20,000 to the Greenville High School Marching Band for new jackets
  • $495 to Greenville Public Schools for Numeracy Specialist Program Training
  • $73,000 for the Corewell Health Telemedicine Program in Montcalm County
  • $34,750 to Flat River Community Library Greenville Public Schools Digital Connection program
  • $12,806 to Greenville Public Schools for CPR Training
  • $75,000 to St. Charles Catholic School for the Bathroom Remodel project
  • $2,500 to Greenville Middle School for 6th Grade Speakers
  • $10,000 to Junior Achievement for the Greenville Public Schools programming
  • $5,500 to the Greenville High School Iron Jackets program for equipment
  • $6,000 to the Montcalm County 4H Fair Association for the Reading for Rides program
  • $11,250 to St Charles Catholic School for a classroom sink update
  • $2,875 to the Greenville High School Softball program for field repairs
  • $2,760 to the Camp Greenwood Community Pottery Classes
  • $5,000 for the Greenville Public Schools Opportunities for Success
  • $1,000 for St. Charles Catholic School Opportunities for Success

The following funds supported the 2024 GACF grants: Sagendorf Education Fund, Ray J. and Mary G. Tower Family Fund, William and Harriette Cook Literacy Fund, Tom and Chris Kohn Family Fund, Sagendorf Opportunities for Success Fund, Montcalm Financial Literacy Fund, Creative Arts Council Fund, Montcalm County Student Career Awareness Fund, Carl Barberi Caring for Kids Fund, and the Lothian Fund for Youth, and the GACF Unrestricted Fund.
