Year-End Giving Dates
Checks
Checks must be postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service on or before Thursday, Dec. 31.
Make checks payable to the Greenville Area Community Foundation, noting the name of the Fund on the memo line.

To ensure your check is postmarked in time to be eligible for a 2026 charitable deduction, we recommend requesting a manual postmark in person at a post office or using certified/registered mail.
ACH/ Wire Transfers
ACH/ Wire Transfers must be received by Thursday, December 31.
The gift date is when funds are credited to our account. We suggest initiating the transfer before Tuesday, December 29, taking your bank’s processing time into consideration to ensure the gift posts before year-end.
If your fund’s assets are invested in a managed account, please ask your financial advisor to email GACF to notify us of incoming contributions.
IRA Distribution
To count toward a particular tax year, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) must be completed by December 31 of that year.
The gift date is when funds leave your IRA and are payable to the charity, not when you request the distribution. Talk to your IRA custodian to ensure processing before year-end. The 2026 annual QCD limit is $111,000 per person.
Credit Card/ Online Gifts
Credit card charges must be processed by 11:59 PM EST on December 31.

Stock/ Other Securities
Gifts of stock must be received by December 31 to be a 2026 gift.
We recommend discussing with your broker as soon as possible as processing times vary. The gift is considered complete when your broker finishes the transfer.
Donor Advised Grants
Donor advised funds may wish to recommend grants as part of year-end campaigns or holiday contributions. In order for organizations to receive their grant in 2026, recommendations should be made by Friday, December 18th at 5 PM.
New Funds
If you are interested in establishing a named fund with your charitable dollars, please contact our office as soon as possible to get the process started. New fund agreements must be completed by December 18.
