In the greater Greenville area, the names Stan and Blanche Ash are synonymous with philanthropy. From education, to healthcare, to business and cultural events, their generosity has touched nearly every corner of our community. During their lifetime, Stan and Blanche were pillars of community support, and through their estate, endowed funds held by GACF carry on their legacy and continue as a lasting source of impact. 

Education was always important to Stan and Blanche. Stan was a proponent of vocational training and helped start local apprenticeship programs and co-ops for skilled trades. He supported the founding of Montcalm Community College, and later served on the MCC Board and the MCC Foundation. The Stanley & Blanche Ash Foundation supported post-secondary scholarships for many area students.  

Today, the Stanley & Blanche Ash Educational Fund has awarded over $1.7 million to students graduating from Belding and Montcalm County schools. Established in 2011, the fund awards renewable scholarships to students pursuing post-secondary education.  

Stan and Blanche also valued local initiatives, supporting many projects over the years that strengthened our community. Since 2011, the Stanley & Blanche Ash Community Improvement Fund at GACF has awarded over $2.2 million in grant funding to local nonprofits and municipalities. The fund also annually supports the Ash Cultural Event, bringing unique performing arts experiences to community residents. 

Stan and Blanche Ash took a forward-thinking approach to giving. Through their endowed funds at, they supported the GACF mission to “enhance the quality of life in the greater Greenville area,” ensuring that future generations will continue benefiting from the resources they helped build.
