The Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF) annually awards unique scholarships for enrichment experiences. From performing arts to adventure camps, these scholarships are made possible through the generous donations of individuals and families who have created permanent endowment funds at the Greenville Area Community Foundation, and its affiliate funds – Lakeview Area Community Fund, and Montcalm Panhandle Community Fund.
Performing Arts
Herman & Verdie Clark Music Scholarships – Open to a Greenville High School student demonstrating the interest and ability to make music a major part of their life. Need will also be considered, as well as teacher recommendation.
Elmer & Mary Coon Performing Arts Scholarships – Open to Lakeview students, grade 8th-11th, interested in attending a performing arts summer camp (voice/ instrument or theatre).
Alden & Hilda Miller Music Scholarship – The purpose is to provide funding for the musical advancement of a student from Montcalm County. This can include but is not limited to Interlochen, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, College or University music camps, etc.
Clark & Dorothy Oliver Memorial Music Scholarship – The purpose is to provide financial assistance to attend summer music camps or institutes to youth attending the school district that serves the Greenville area. Applicants must be a 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student at Greenville High School, attend a summer music camp or institute endorsed by the Greenville Music Department, be currently enrolled in a high school band or orchestra class, and encouraged to enroll in the high school band or orchestra class the year following the camp experience.
Gary Wakenhut Memorial Music Scholarship Fund – This endowed scholarship fund was established by Anne Wakenhut and family in memory of Gary, to provide support for a Montcalm County student to attend a non-profit music camp or participate with a music group during his/her undergraduate years.
Outdoor Adventure
Edward W. Ellingen Scholarship – One scholarship is available for a Greenville student to attend an outdoor adventure program (Outward Bound, Adventure Treks, National Outdoor Leadership School, Wilderness Adventures, Moondance Adventures, or other approved program.)
Charles J. Gibson, Jr. Scholarship – One scholarship is available to a Greenville student to attend an outdoor adventure program.
