The Greenville Area Community Foundation is pleased to announce a new scholarship fund supporting continued education for local students. The Richard Pendrick Scholarship Fund was created by Greenville resident Elaine Pendrick to honor the memory of her late husband. Richard was a Greenville High School graduate, Class of 1952. Following a year at Central Michigan University and two years of service in the Army, Richard took a job at Mid West Extrusion Tool and Die Company, where he learned the extrusion die business. Later, he worked for Extruded Metals in Belding. His career in tool & die continued for many years until he switched to aluminum sales.
Richard and Elaine were married for 66 years and made Greenville their home, so supporting continued education for local students made sense. Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing tool & die or business, honoring Richard’s work, with preference given to students from Greenville Public Schools, then Belding Area Schools, then all of Montcalm County.
