Join us for an open house and tour our newly renovated office space on Wednesday, September 21 from 4:00-6:00 PM. Enjoy light refreshments provided by The Winter Inn and a ribbon cutting at 4:30 PM.
As we celebrate our new location, here is a look back at all the places GACF has lived over the years:
In the beginning, City Hall was the hub of GACF work. Many thanks to the City of Greenville for support in those early years.
GACF’s first Executive Director Bettilyn Kass worked out of her home. GACF paid for her phone but she volunteered her time and utilities.
As GACF grew and needed an official office, the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce offered space in their attic for a small fee.
When work outgrew the attic space, Huntington Bank offered a suite of rooms on the bank’s 2nd floor for free, as well as access to a conference room for meetings!
Later on, Commercial Bank offered office space and then the entire building at 101 Lafayette St. as a gift to GACF and the community. Ground floor access and main street visibility were valuable and appreciated!
The new building at 225 N. Lafayette was gifted by the Cook family and is a wonderful space for GACF now and into the future.
