Upcoming Grant Deadlines for 2015 Funding

LENA & FRED MEIJER TRAIL FUND GRANT CYCLE

This cycle is specifically for Fred Meijer Trails in Montcalm County (Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, Fred Meijer Flat River Trail, and Fred Meijer White Pine Trail) with projects that need financial support.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  FRIDAY, APRIL 18, 2014

DECISION:  MAY 19 , 2014

FUNDING AVAILABLE:  IMMEDIATELY

FALL GENERAL GRANT CYCLE

For all area non-profits (within Montcalm County) with programs or projects that need financial support.  Educationally focused requests will be considered but you are encouraged to make those applications in the spring.

St. Paul Lutheran Church Youth/Family Pastor, Mark Dombkowski, shows off the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) that was purchased through a grant to the Greenville Ministerial Association (with the First Congregational Church as fiduciary).  The $6,500 grant put the life-saving devices in five Greenville churches.  The Ray & Mary Tower Family Fund, the Ranney Family Fund, and the Henry & Alice Walker Fund supported this request.

FALL HEALTH CARE GRANT CYCLE

This grant cycle is specifically for are non-profit health organizations (within Montcalm County) that have programs or projects that affect ealth care for indigent children The Meijer Children’s Health Care Fund provides the grant monies for programs that fall within this specific criteria. These applications will be reviewd by a special Advisory Committee with recommendations made to the GACF Board of Trustees for final approval.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  FRIDAY, AUGUST 8, 2014

DECISION:  OCTOBER 20, 2014

FUNDING AVAILABLE:  JANUARY 2015

A $17,037 grant to Spectrum Health Kelsey provided funding for additional equipment and staff training for the Lakeview Youth Clinic (LYC) – a school-linked alternative clinical adolescent health center serving youth 10-21 years, located in the Lakeview Medical Specialty Center on the Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital campus in Lakeview.  The clinic serves youth 10-21 years and addresses medical, social-emotional and developmental needs of adolescents.  No youth is turned away regardless of inability to pay.  The Meijer Children’s Health Care Fund supported this grant.

MONTCALM PANHANDLE COMMUNITY FUND GRANT CYCLE

For all area non-profits in the Montcalm County panhandle area that have programs or projects that address the community’s cultural, educational, social, health, environmental and recreational concerns.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  FRIDAY, AUGUST 15, 2014

DECISION:  SEPTEMBER, 2014

FUNDING AVAILABLE:  IMMEDIATELY AFTER ANNOUNCEMENT
