$34,000+ IN GRANTS AWARDED TO AREA AGENCIES FOR CHILDREN’S HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS IN 2014
(Greenville) – For the eighth year now, the Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF) Board awarded grants from the Meijer Children’s Health Care Fund in November. Three area organizations received a total of $34,500 for projects and equipment that will provide impoverished Montcalm County children much needed health care services.
Awards were given to the following:
$13,500 to Mid-Michigan District Health Department – The grant will allow implementation of a fluoride varnish oral health program in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, targeting children age six month to their third birthday.
$11,000 to Spectrum Health Foundation for the United Lifestyles Car Seat Safety program – Funds will provide safety seats and car seat education for underserved families in Montcalm County.
$10,000 to Spectrum Health Foundation for the Lakeview Youth Clinic (LYC) – a school-linked alternative clinical adolescent health center – to fund ongoing outreach programs associated with specific focus areas currently being offered to the Lakeview Community Schools.
